Oman Kaminsky

Omán Kaminsky Lara is one of the most acclaimed guitarists of his generation on the international scene. He has performed over 200 concerts in more than 20 countries, appearing in world-renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), and the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico City).

He currently serves as Professor of Guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Belgium), where he plays a key role in artistic and academic development. He has also delivered masterclasses, lectures, and recitals at major guitar festivals and symposiums across Europe, America and Mexico, becoming a significant figure for emerging guitarists.

He is frequently invited to serve on the jury at international guitar competitions in Mexico, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Romania, and the United States.

As a soloist, he has collaborated with numerous orchestras in Mexico and Europe, performing over ten concertos for guitar and orchestra by composers such as Joaquín Rodrigo, Leo Brouwer, Jana Obrovská, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

He has recorded six albums produced in Serbia, Spain, Mexico, and the Netherlands, focusing on the dissemination of Latin American and Mexican guitar music.

He has been awarded first prizes in over 30 international guitar competitions, in Mexico, the United States, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

In recognition of his distinguished trajectory, he was awarded the National Youth Award in Artistic Activities by the President of Mexico, and the National University Award from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) the institution's highest distinction for young scholars.
