Evangelina Mascardi

Evangelina Mascardi is considered one of the finest lutenists active on the international concert scene.

Born in Buenos Aires in 1977, she graduated in classical guitar and began her concert career at a young age. In 1997, she moved to Europe to study lute at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Switzerland), where she obtained the "Solisten Diplom" in 2001. She currently devotes herself primarily to solo performance and the promotion of the lute and its repertoire. She has performed at major European early music and guitar festivals.

She has dedicated several solo recordings to music by Johann Sebastian Bach (complete works for Liuto Arcana 2022), Sylvius Leopold Weiss (Arcana 2024), Bellerofonte Castaldi (Arcana 2011), Spanish Milan (Arcana 2020), Laurent de Saint-Luc and Orlando di Lasso (Musique en Wallonie 2018 and 2021).
