Pia Gazarek-Offermann
Celebrated for her "emotive, poetic playing" and as a "great interpreter in every respect" at the Long Island Festival/New York. The artist studied in Berlin and Bremen with Prof. Thomas Offermann and Prof. Jens Wagner as well as privately at the Centro Chitarristico "Francisco Tárrega" Pordenone/Italy with Prof. Paolo Pegoraro. She was a member of the internationally acclaimed Radio Youth Choir Wernigerode, its chamber choir and the internationally acclaimed Vocal Consort Weimar. Winner of the International Classical Guitar Competition in Kraków, Poland. Masterclasses with Roberto Aussel, David Russell, Hopkinson Smith and the renowned New York pianist Seymour Bernstein, among others. Solo and chamber music concerts, international festivals, jury work and lecturer at music colleges and universities in Europe, North America, South America and Asia. Cooperation with the German Embassy, the Goethe Institute, the Instituto Cervantes. 2010 'Artist in Residence' Mount Royal University Calgary/ Canada. Many years of teaching at the Bremen University of the Arts and in team artistic director of the Bremen Guitar Art Festival and belonging Bremen Guitar Art Youth Competition. Artistic Director of the Federal State Guitar Orchestra Saxony-Anhalt/ Germany.
In addition to her artistic work, she received a
diploma as a cultural manager. Two solo CDs "Satyagraha" and
"Spanish Guitar Masterpieces" were released by AureaVox. New upcoming
CD with works by Alexandre Tansman. D'Addario Artist (USA).
